Overthinking Withdraws Laughter

Two muffins are sitting in an oven.

The first muffin says, "Man, is it getting hot in here."

The second muffin says, "OMG It's a talking muffin!!!!"

Absolutely, irrevocably is the cutest, yet most ridiculous joke I've ever heard. C'mon really? Why would a talking muffin be surprised that another muffin talked?  Now I'm gonna make it all serious , though is a great metaphor for how the world works today. Tell you what we'll figure it out at the same time.

So I asked my wife, "What has four legs, a tail and barks?"

She replies, "A dog."

With disappointment in my heart I reply, "Oh. You've heard that one before."
